When it comes to flooring, there are myriad options available in the market. From wood flooring to tile flooring, they come in different styles and designs. However, when it comes to cleaning and maintaining them, every flooring has different requirements and needs all the care it can get. And when we talk about the easiest flooring, tile flooring is considered to be the easiest and most popular choice among buyers. It not only looks beautiful and sleek but is also very easy to maintain.

Cleaning floors may sound very tedious and tiresome but in actual it is not that hard if you take proper care of them and use the right cleaning techniques. Read on to know how to keep your tile flooring all neat and maintained.

Vacuuming and dusting

The very first step to keeping your floors all clear is to vacuum or sweep them off with a fluffy dust mop. It is the easiest and fastest way to clean your floor tiling. You should do this process on a daily basis to prevent all the dust and dirt from getting embedded on to the tiles and the grout. And don’t use straw broom to clean off the dust as it may damage the tiles by scratching its surface.

Mop them every once a week

Mopping your floor every once a week is also considered to be an important step. It should be done using warm water only. Use damp mop over the floors and make sure to use clean water every time as using dirty water may add more dust and dirt to the tiles. To enhance the shine of tiles, you can use a mild soap or detergent with it. But first, make sure to check with your tile manufacturer about what all cleansers can be used for the tiles to avoid any mishap in the future.

Also don’t forget to dry off the floors right after mopping them with water, to avoid getting dust and dirt settling on to the floors and staining the grouts.

Clean all the spills

Whenever anything gets spilled on the floor, we usually don’t take it much seriously and let it dry off on its own. Which is the major cause of all those stain formation on the tiles. Even if you spill a glass of water, it is extremely important to clean it off using a semi damp mop to avoid dust getting accumulated with it. If you are dealing with dirty spills, you can consider using a disinfectant or cleanser to get rid of it. But make sure to use a disinfectant only on the area where the spill has happened or else it may degrade the quality of your tiles.

So whenever there is any kind of spill, clean it at the earliest.

Maintain the grouts

One of the hardest things to clean is its grout. With all the dust and dirt getting accumulated to the grout of the tiles, it becomes extremely difficult to clean them up using a mop or vacuum. Hence why it is really important to avoid that from happening.

However, they can still be cleaned using a simple trick. You can simply create a paste using baking soda and water. Spread it on to the grout and let it sit for good 2-3 hours, or overnight if that works for you. Then scrub it off using a toothbrush and rinse it using warm water.
